Q. What type of business is HPI?
A.
HPI is a multi-trade service business. We are professional tradesmen who complete the small jobs and tasks needed around residential and commercial properties. In other words, we repair, maintain and improve your residence or your commercial property on a regular or one-off basis.​

Q. Why Have I Not Heard Of You Before?
A.
W​e advertise very little as a large proportion of our business comes from the referrals of satisfied customers. This means we can spend more time focusing on delivering a great service, and less time on worrying about where we should advertise, it also helps us to keep down the costs, savings which we relay on to our customers. The success of our business relies on this word-of-mouth, so please remember to tell your friends, family and work colleagues about our great work.​

Q. What is your callout charge?
A. We don’t have one.

Q. What areas do you cover?
A. We primarily service the North Down and Ards Peninsula areas however following recommendations from satisfied customers to their wider families and friends, we often cover Greater Belfast and beyond.

Q. What does it cost for your service?
A. Please refer to our pricing and offers page for both our standard charges and clever ways in which you can help to save yourself additional money.

Q. Do you charge by the hour or by the job?
A. Both. For our handyman services we prefer to charge by the hour as these jobs are generally quite however for multiple handyman jobs you can save money by having us do lots of them in one visit. For larger jobs like decorating, fencing and decking  we prefer to provide quotations which we do free. Lastly, there are jobs like tiling that we can price by the metre if you prefer. Whatever pricing structure you opt for, we'll always give you our most competitive rates.

Q. Are you open 24 hours a day?
A. Our landline is open from 8am to 6pm and our mobile number from 8am to 9pm. With regards to the work itself, we do not have an emergency callout service so to speak but we will be more than happy to try and fit you in for jobs like securing premises following a break-in. We are also prepared to work evenings, weekends and even nightshifts (by prior arrangement).

Q. How do I pay for HPIs services?
A. You can pay by cash, cheque or online transfer. We cover the cost of most materials up front (within reason) but unfortunately we are unable to provide further credit facilities at this time so payment is expected upon satisfactory completion. 30 day accounts can be set up for commercial customers subject to the necessary credit checks.

Q. How do I schedule an appointment with HPI?
A. Simply visit our Contact Us page and call us via the landline or mobile numbers shown. Alternatively, you can fill in the contact form provided and we will schedule your free appointment from there. The process is quick and easyand should only take a few minutes. Give us as much information about your requirements as possible so we can prepare to offer you the best option for your quote. Don’t forget to include your phone number if you prefer to be contacted in that way. Some smaller jobs can be priced over the phone however we prefer to view all jobs in person.

​Q. Do you guarantee materials & labour?
A. Yes. HPI guarantees the quality and workmanship of all labour carried out by us for 6 months from the date of invoice. We also guarantees all materials sourced by us for the same period. We do not normally guarantee materials provided by the customer but will still honour our labour guarantee provided the materials supplied are fit for purpose.

Q. Will you do any job that a customer requests?
A. No, there are jobs that should only be carried out by highly qualified tradesmen such as complex electrical or gas works. Unlike some other firms of our type, we will never claim to be able to do a job that we are not qualified to do. On the other hand, we do have a network of qualified people who we can call upon to do these jobs for us. Let HPI handle that for you and you can sit back and put your feet up.

Q. What if you accidentally damage my property?
A. Thankfully this is something that we have never done before however for your peace of mind and indeed ours, we have public liability insurance in place for up to £1m of cover. We can provide evidence of this upon request.

Q. How do I know that you’ll do a good job?
A. The short answer is that you don’t, unless of course you have used us before. If you are uncertain about the quality of our workmanship simply ask us to provide references for you and we will put you in touch with a previous customer who’s job most closely matches your own requirements. We do suspect however that you will join the list of many others who now see us as their ‘regular go to guys’ for anything to do with their property.
